About the Prizes Group

Mission

The prize is designed to support Russian-speaking scientists and science journalists who have the ability to present the latest discoveries and research in an accessible and engaging manner. We aim to assist Russian authors who are interested in popularizing the ideas generated by the scientific community and have the skills to do so.
The prize seeks to attract readers to the educational genre and establish conditions for increasing demand in the educational literature and non-fiction market.

Our Mission

We believe that spreading scientific knowledge about the organization of the world — encompassing humans, society, and nature — facilitates the creation of a successful humanistic society. Conversely, when rational knowledge is dismissed, it is energetically replaced by pseudoscience and the denial of science, leading to societal degradation.
The Enlightener Prize, established by Dmitry Zimin, aims to respond to all meaningful changes in society’s life. Our objective is to equip each reader with the ability to react to all these changes not just emotionally but rationally, enabling them to accurately and systematically understand what is happening.
This is why we focus on popular science books, regardless of their format and method of distribution, as long as they are easily comprehensible to general readers. A well-informed reader will more frequently choose to examine events from multiple perspectives. They will question information, verify it, strive for objectivity in their judgments, and discern between good and evil.

The goal of the Enlightener Prize is to ensure that more people in Russia and beyond read high-quality popular science books each day.
