The Heroine with 1001 Faces

A grand study of female images in world culture in which Harvard professor, cultural critic and literary scholar Maria Tatar challenges the canonical models of heroism in Joseph Campbell’s works. She analyses a ‘hero’s journey’ through the space of stories to make a convincing case that women are not only mothers, spouses or patron goddesses of heroes.
