The Poet and the Tsar: From the History of Russian Cultural Mythology (Mandelstam, Pasternak, Brodsky)

Stalin, shocked by Mandelstam's poems and discussing his talent with Pasternak, the Brezhnev Politburo, which expelled Brodsky from the USSR due to inability of coexisting in one country with the great poet - popular subjects proving the special status of the Poet in Russian history and his recognition by the state over general conventions. A detailed reconstruction of these events has shown its causes, course and significance in a different way.
